Global warming is axiomatic, we are all very much aware that the Earth appears to be getting warmer on a global scale. We are aware that the polar ice caps are melting but the drastic increase in sea levels doesn’t seem to be apparent yet. The warming doesn’t appear to be linear, sometimes the global temperature is seen to be cooling but overall it is getting warmer but not much.
Climate change is constant and apparently has been since the Earth has had an atmosphere. Typically (what we refer to) the climate has 4 “states” or Seasons, Spring, Summer, Autumn, Winter but over the years these 4 “states” have changed so the difference between Summer and Winter is not as clear. We are also getting some strange weather conditions and this is attributed to changes in the Jet Stream and Gulf Stream. Where I live, 1 year ago the temperature outside was an unbearable 41 deg C but exactly a year later the outside temperature was about 23 deg C. Thinking back to when I was a youngster, Summers were hot and Winters were very cold but over the years we have experienced warm winters and even snow in June / July. The “Seasons” don’t seem to be the same any more. The plants in my garden no longer flower in an expected time period. Sometimes it seems that spring and summer are a few weeks late. Other times some plants flower unusually early.
“Main Stream Media” and “Social Media“, which most of use for for “News” and whats happening in the world, are deliberately spoon feeding propaganda and misinformation. In addition they spoon feed opinions and not facts. Unfortunately MSM and SM are controlled by people that “have an agenda”, which is mostly to promote specious information and ultimately to profit at others expense.
The Earth is about 4.5 BILLION years old and there are some well respected scientists that suggest that Global Warming and Global Cooling is CYCLIC and there is nothing that Humans can do to stop the forces of nature. This means we need to adapt to the changing conditions to survive. This is the same with plants and animals, those that don’t adapt will become extinct.
Nowhere are we reminded that the Earth is just one of many planets in our Milky Way Galaxy and neither are we reminded that our Galaxy is one of BILLIONS of Galaxies in our Universe. The Earth is subject to the “events” of the Galaxy and Universe. Gravity is the single and most powerful force that controls every part of the Universe. Humans are merely parasites that have made Earth their home and have grown in number to currently 8+ BILLION. We all need feeding and shelter and we all need to dispose of human waste (biological and other). It is feasible that humans and their activities can have a negative impact on the Earth so we need to be more planet friendly but still need to adapt to the constant changes.
Adapting our lives to use sustainable and renewable ways so that we have a zero impact on the Earth would be awesome and we would no longer be parasites.
The current Global warming is being blamed on Humans and their activities. CO2 / Net Zero is being stuffed down our throats but looking at the composition of our atmosphere, it can be seen that the CO2 levels haven’t changed much over a 160 year period (when records began). CO2 is still less than 0.5% of the atmosphere. Nitrogen is still around 78% of the atmosphere and plants need Nitrogen, without it they would not survive. However plants are unable to absorb Nitrogen from the atmosphere, they have to rely on microorginasms with the soils to provide the nitrogen. Humans are “Carbon based Life forms” and need Carbon to survive, maybe plants are “Nitrogen based life forms”! It would be churlish to suggest that Humans are the only life forms 🙂 We need to start questioning more and stop taking things at face value. We have some amazing talented people that are very knowledgeable about specific “topics / subjects”. They can collect all known facts about something and then using their knowledge and experience, they can extrapolate likely outcomes but even they know they cannot foresee the future. There is still a lot to learn about how the Universe works and how we all interact with it.
Dinosaurs lived on the Earth for some 180 Million years and it is suggested that most of the land masses were covered in trees or vegetation and the seas were full of algae but the CO2 was apparently about 19% of the atmosphere!
At some point during the early Dinosaur period, the Polar Caps were apparently free of ice so the Earth would have been tropical.
The last time the Earth was completely covered in ice was apparently some 650 Millions years ago, see Snowball Earth.
With the CYCLIC effect in mind, it is possible that Earth started cooling during the Dinosaur period and ice started to appear at the polar caps, only becoming cold enough to partially cover a lot of the Earth with ice about 65/66 Million years ago. This apparently wiped out the Dinosaurs because they were not able to adapt to the ice bound lands and seas.
It is suggested that a huge meteor impacted the Earth 65/66 Million years ago and this caused a dust cloud so immense it blocked the heat from the Sun. The meteor can still be viewed in the Arizona desert. It is also suggested that a huge meteor landed in the sea and caused a huge tsunami that wiped out the Dinosaurs. The force of the impact of any huge meteor could have caused the Earth to tilt on its axis, which would better explain the lack of heat from the Sun and the resultant ice formations. The Earths axis does apparently vary over time, this could give credence to the CYCLIC Global Warming and Global cooling, perhaps!
Whatever the “cause”, the dust would have eventually cleared and over time the Earth would have probably corrected its tilt to normal. The Earth would have started to warm again. About 1.2 Million years ago, the Earth became warm enough to start the melting of the glaciers, this is said to be responsible for creating our current landscapes.
An “ice age” is defined as having ice at the Polar Caps so this means we are still (technically) in an ice age and Global Warming is likely to continue until there is no ice at the polar caps, in theory!
Lets not forget that the Earth has its own “maintenance system” that has been in place for BILLIONS of years. The Tectonic plates are in constant flux and cause Earthquakes and the “alteration of land masses”. Volcanoes are another aspect of the Earths “Maintenance System” and there are currently over 100 active Volcanoes spewing out atmospheric pollution on a grand scale and greater than any atmospheric pollution created by humans.
Carbon based life forms need Carbon to survive. Apparently volcanoes assist with this. On the other hand, too much CO2 causes Global Waming. Can we make sense of all of this often conflicing information? That will depend on several things.
- You need to stop accepting things at face value and question everything.
- You need to do your own research and cross reference it to separate facts from opinions.
- You need to be aware of the difference between Facts and Opinions.
- You need to be aware that some people have an “agenda” and will intermingle facts with opinions. People that use emotion to beget actions are very dangerous because they know how to manupulate the “Psyche” and will stop at nothing to “brain wash” susceptable peole
- We need to stop confusing Climate Change with Global Warming, they are not the same but are linked.
- There is a suggestion that the huge amount of CO2 and other gasses and pollutants from volcanoes are not responsible for Global Warming. This would suggest that “human Created” CO2 is also not responsible for Global Warming. It also questions the concept of “Greenhouse Gasses”.
- The concept of “Greehouse Gasses” suggest that these gasses don’t escape the Earths atmosphere and are the cause of Global Warming but the ratio of CO2 is still LESS THAN 0.5% and it has been like this for the past 160 years. This would suggest that CO2 and maybe other gasses are not accumulating in the atmosphere.
- Stepping back and looking at the “Big Picture” should help sort the facts from fiction.
Some info that appears to be factual:-
- The Earth was formed some 4.5 BILLION years ago.
- The Earth has had an atmosphere for some 2 – 2.5 BILLION years.
- The atmosphere mainly consists of about 78% Nitrogen. Oxygen is usually about 19% and Carbon Dioxide (CO2) is usually less than 0.5 %. There is some evidence that the CO2 levels during the Dinosaur age were up to 20%. It isn’t clear what the other gases were in % levels.
- If the CO2 levels were as high as 20% during the Dinosaur period when most of the land masses were apparently covered in trees and vegetation and the seas were plentiful of algae, the concept of trees and vegetation locking up the CO2 appears to be questionable.
- If the CO2 levels were as high as 20% during the Dinosaur period, the levels of Nitrogen and / or Oxygen would be less.
- If most of the land masses were ice covered for 65 /66 Million years, vegetation would have been buried under the ice or be non existent. How could this lock up the CO2.
- If CO2 levels where around 19% when dinosaurs roamed the Earth, where did it go to only leave 0.5%?
- Vegetation including trees absorbs CO2 during daylight but this is reversed in the hours of darkness.
- Most of Europe was still covered in Perma Frost some 10000 years ago but the southern part of the British Isles was free from ice / Perma Frost, see Chedder Man.
- The last time that the Earth was completely covered in ice was some 650 MILLION years ago – Snowball Earth.
- The last time that the Polar regions were free of ice for a short period was during the Dinosaur period.
- An “Ice age” is defined as a period where the polar caps are ice bound. This suggests that we are still in an ice age!
- The Dinosaur period appears to have ended some 65 / 66 MILLION years ago.
- There is evidence that huge meteor impacted on the Earth some 65 / 66 MILLION years ago and caused a dust cloud that resulted in an ICE age. It is possible that this meteor could have affected the Earths tilt.
- Following the extinction of the Dinosaurs and a lot of the Earth being covered in ice, the tectonic plates would have still been their stuff and volcanoes would have still been spewing out air pollution.
- If the “green house” gases were not able to escape the atmosphere and could not be absorbed by vegetation (due to it being covered with ice), it is possible that these “green house” gases causes the gradual warming of the planet over 65 Million years but where did the CO2 go?
- It would appear that the planet warmed sufficiently to cause Glaziers to melt some 1.2 MILLION years ago and has gradually been warming since then.
- Global Warming & Global Cooling also appear to be cyclic but the Earth will always be subject to impact from meteors and the effects of the Universe will always be a major factor.
- It is likely that the planet will continue with its cyclic warming action until there is no ice at the polar caps and will then start to cool globally.
- Global Warming is only a problem for humans and maybe animals that fail to adapt.
- The Earth was not formed for the benefit of humans, humans are basically parasites that rape the planet of its resources and give nothing in return.
- Humans, Animals and Vegetation need to adapt to the Global Warming other wise they will perish, like the Dinosaurs.
- The Earth can survive without Humans.
- The Earth can survive without Animals.
- The Earth can survive without Vegetation but would become barren.
- The Earth will continue to have tectonic plates that are in constant flux, with or without Humans.
- The Earth will continue to have Earthquakes, with or without Humans.
- The Earth will continue to have Volcanoes, with or without Humans.
If we humans want to survive, we need to adapt to the Global Warming. We need be planet friendly and live using sustainable and renewable methods. Ideally we need to remove greed and corruption and share the world. No human has any entitlement to OWN land because the Earth does not have a sales office or any means to process the purchasing of land!
The Earth has been in existence for some 4.5 BILLION years, humans have existed for less than a MILLION years. We don’t have any entitlement to damage the planet for our advantage. We are simply guests of this wonderful planet and it provides us with food, shelter, clothing and the air we breathe. We need to treat the planet with more respect but Earth will survive with or without humans. The Earth is subject to the forces of the Universe and its effects. Humans are merely a grain of sand on a beach and the best we can do is work together to make a sand castle but when the tide comes in, were are gone!
